چکیده

The article presents the standard method of evaluation car drivers’ psychomotor reaction times. A characteristic feature this is ability to conduct tests using real vehicles equipped with mobile measuring apparatus. Measurements are carried out on people whose task initiate specific maneuvers (such as: a braking or turning maneuver, combined and as well e.g., use an audio signal) in response external stimuli coming from different directions. sources light signals emitted by variable message signs placed around vehicle. developed control measurement equipment allows us realize various complex test scenarios. It generates stimulus sequences, assesses correctness driver’s measures its time. This obtain sets results under conditions durations. possibility testing large number participants relatively short time repetitive for reliable statistical inference. paper examples research obtained basis few thousand group respondents. registered data was statistically processed referred literature. high degree correlation between analyzed literature reports proves that presented may be source analysis phenomena related response, especially influence factors affecting values.

Gas station flash survey - A Method for interviewing drivers

Interviews and questionnaires are very important techniques to acquire information from the potential user. Surveys are one tool to understand users’ needs which is in particular helpful in the early phases of user interface design processes. To get meaningful information interface designers typically determine the target user group for an application. Most commonly, when designing in-car inter...

A two-station queue with dependent preparation and service times

We discuss a single-server multi-station alternating queue where the preparation times and the service times are autoand cross-correlated. We examine two cases. In the first case, preparation and service times depend on a common discrete time Markov chain. In the second case, we assume that the service times depend on the previous preparation time through their joint Laplace transform. The wait...

Circadian and wake-dependent modulation of fastest and slowest reaction times during the psychomotor vigilance task.

Performance on the psychomotor vigilance task (PVT) sensitively reflects a circadian modulation of neurobehavioral functions, as well as the effect of sleep pressure developing with duration of time awake, without being confounded by a learning curve. Sixteen healthy volunteers underwent two 40-h constant posture protocols in a balanced crossover design. During these protocols, either low sleep...

Age affects drivers' response times.

In Slovenia the number of drivers over 65 is increasing every year. With age comes a decrease in psychophysical abilities, which include sensory and motoric functions and the ability of processing visual information. These changes increase the response time and decrease the driving capacity. The aim of this study was to establish a correlation between age and response time and to determine the ...

Useful field of view in simulated driving: Reaction times and eye movements of drivers

To examine the spatial distribution of a useful field of view (UFOV) in driving, reaction times (RTs) and eye movements were measured in simulated driving. In the experiment, a normal or mirror-reversed letter "E" was presented on driving images with different eccentricities and directions from the current gaze position. The results showed significantly slower RTs in the upper and upper left di...
